Getting the Most out of Your Basecamp

Getting the Most out of Your Basecamp Article from Airstream of Montana

Not everyone is looking for the ultimate luxury experience when it comes to their RV. After all, when you’re experiencing the great outdoors, the luxury is all around you. No need for anything fancier. This is the firm belief of our Basecamp trailer owners. These are the RV campers who just need a comfortable place to sleep every night and are maybe looking to upgrade from tent camping (you get more storage with an RV and it’s simply more comfortable and sheltered).

So why choose this travel trailer over some of the other Airstream options? That’s what Airstream of Montana is here to help you figure out.

We’ve provided some of the highlights of the Basecamp models so you can decide if this should be your next major investment. For additional help and information, stop by our location in Missoula, Montana, near Kalispell and Bozeman.

Design

The design approach to the Basecamp models are all about streamlining the trailer and making it easier to travel around. A more comfortable camping experience shouldn’t impede your ability to drive to those remote and hard to access places. You’ll still get some of the best quality materials, but at a far more compact standard.

If you’re a longtime fan of the company and its RVs, you know that the Basecamp isn’t a new RV. It first appeared in 2007 which means in that time, the company has put in countless hours figuring out how to make this model even better. And this is what you get:

An aluminum superstructure gives you the kind of durability and lightweight frame you need with the right balance of aerodynamics to avoid unnecessary drag on the road. This is also helped by the innovative roof profile (which also gives it its iconic and easily identifiable profile). For an added touch of luxury–and to ensure you won’t be more than a glance away from the scenery around you–the Basecamp comes with wrap-around windows to give you an unobstructed view of the landscape.

Features

There’s more to this design story than just the frame. Some of the more exciting features that come with this model include solar power hookups and more efficient ventilation, plumbing, and heating options, which will come in handy when you’re camping so remote that you don’t have the benefit of campground hookups. You’ll also get better and smarter storage options so even though you’ll have a smaller rig, you’ll still be able to bring along all the supplies you’ll need for your next adventure. You can even fit a kayak in it.

You also have the option of a patio tent to give you and your camping party more room to spread out and sleep. This can be in addition to a rear tent which can really give you room to spread out. Or, it can let you still enjoy the outdoors if you’re visiting a particularly buggy part of the state or country. Ask about other great options to help make your experience more enjoyable.

Interior

But now it’s time to step inside this rig. Just because everything’s streamlined, doesn’t mean you won’t get some of the best features. This means a clean and compact kitchen area so you can get in and get done. After all, after a long day doing what you’ll be doing, you’ll probably want to hit the grub as soon as you can, no dilly dallying. Then you’ll be able to take your meal to your adjustable floor plan with moveable tables. You can either use these tables for dining, get them out of the way for easy mobility, or lower them to help support the convertible bed. You’ll also get a clean toilet and shower so you don’t have to forgo all modern amenities.
