Design
Airstream has successfully put a modern twist on the American classic with the fiberglass shell and large, panoramic front windows that will undoubtedly turn heads wherever you go. Airstream designer Robert Johan teamed up with automotive designer Bryan Thompson to create Nest, a superior RV with a sleek, industrial look that combines modern and retro elements that’s sure to impress campers of all generations. Airstream has essentially taken its original design with the same quality craftsmanship, added some modern touches, additional storage space, and more cozy amenities. What’s not to love?
Layout
Nest offers two floorplans to choose from so you can decide which one works best for your camping and traveling needs. The 16U floorplan offers extra counter space and a U-shaped dinette that conveniently converts into a comfortable bed. The 16FB floorplan featured a fixed queen bed by Tuft & Needle with an adaptive foam mattress. There’s also a dinette bench with a stowable table top. Nest has an interior height of 6 feet 6 inches, so most people can comfortably stand up when inside. The camper is 16 feet 7 inches long, so it will easily fit in most garages. The weight is just around 3,400 lbs so it’s not too difficult to tow but also not the lightest model in the lineup.
Features
You’ll have your share of awesome features and amenities with Nest, including a kitchen with premium fixtures, a two-burner stove, a stainless steel sink, a microwave, and a 24-gallon fresh water tank. In the bathroom, you’ll find a removable handheld showerhead, toilet, roof vent, soap dispensers, and a utility shelf. Other notable touches include blackout shades, LED interior lighting with Bluetooth control, USB ports, a sliding screen door, coat and key hooks, and plenty of overhead storage. In addition, you’ll enjoy the seamless vinyl flooring along with fingerprint and stain resistant soft white laminate.
On the exterior, you’ll have just as many great features to look forward to. Nest has a hand-painted chassis, two lockable storage compartments, a unique front door key with heavy duty deadbolt, dedicated waste hose storage, a manual hitch jack, stylized aluminum wheels, tempered tinted windows, plenty of LED lighting including the entrance light, entry door handle, taillights, and license plate bracket.
What you’re bound to love most about Nest is that it’s so compact, you’ll probably be able to tow it with your current vehicle. The small size of the camper makes it an easy towing experience. There are fewer moving parts so it’s streamlined for ease of use whether you’re a novice or a veteran camper.
